Court orders both men to be sent for psychological evaluations.
Drug suspects say they are mentally ill
Two men charged with drug dealing yesterday told Abu Dhabi criminal court they suffered from mental illness.
AH and AM, both Emiratis, denied dealing, but AH confessed to taking drugs and drinking alcohol. He claimed that he had been tortured by police and said marks on his body were caused by them burning his skin with cigarettes.
When asked what type of illness he was suffering from, he told the court: "I lose everything." His co-defendant also told the court he suffered from mental illness. The court ordered the two to be sent for psychological evaluations.
