DUBAI // Drivers have been urged to take extra care in the coming days as fog and dusty conditions could reduce visibility.

Temperatures are expected to stay relatively stable until Tuesday, with coastal areas hitting a maximum of 32°C during the day and about 21°C at night.

Internal areas will be slightly warmer in the day with a maximum of 34°C, but could drop as low as 16°C at night.

"The weather will be consistent for the next couple of days," said a spokesman at the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology in Abu Dhabi.

"Having said that, we do expect fog in scattered areas making visibility as low as around 100 metres."

Visibility will be reduced between Abu Dhabi and Al Ain as well as around Liwa this morning.

"From Tuesday we expect the wind speed to pick up in internal and western areas to between 15 and 20 knots," said the spokesman. "It doesn't take a lot for sand to be kicked up in these areas, so drivers should expect hazy and dusty conditions."

The weather is currently in a transitional phase between summer and winter caused by weak low pressure on the surface coming into contact with a ridge of high pressure.

"Although temperatures will now slowly get cooler, we don't expect winter to fully arrive until December 21," said the spokesman.

"Temperatures could increase slightly after Tuesday but, in general, there will be a slow and steady decrease in the coming weeks."
