Driver who threatened to kill woman in handwritten note jailed
The woman found the note on her car's windshield in May
A taxi driver who left a note threatening to kill a woman and her family unless she gave him money was sentenced to six months in jail.
The Russian investor found the handwritten note outside her Al Barsha home on her car’s windshield on May 8.
Police arrested the Indian driver after finding his fingerprints on the paper.
The 27-year-old told police he climbed up the wall into her garden then left her the note.
“I will kill you, your husband and son, and even if I went to jail, my gun will always be pointed at you,” the note said.
The investor, 37, told prosecutors that she found the note at 7:30am which also said that she would be killed if she reported the matter to police.
The defendant was convicted of issuing death threats and trespassing but the court did not reveal the reason why the man threatened the woman or if he had known her before.
He will be deported after serving his term.
