Driver to spend one year in jail for molesting boss's 8-year-old daughter

A driver has been sentenced to one year in prison for molesting his boss's 8-year-old daughter at their office in Deira.
The truck driver, 35, admitted to kissing the girl, but told Dubai Criminal Court that he kissed her like a daughter. Seconds later he retracted his admission from court.
"I kissed her like I would kiss my own daughter, then took a picture with her in front of her mother," said the Bangladeshi man, who worked for the girl's mother.
The driver then changed his plea, saying he didn't kiss the girl at all.
On December 5 last year, the Singaporean mother, 38, brought her daughter to her office where the defendant worked as a truck driver.
"Later that day, when I was putting my daughter to sleep, she said that at around 10pm, before we left the company, she was with the driver alone in the office and he did something bad to her," the mother said.
She said her daughter cried as she told her that the man touched her for nearly 20 minutes while the mother had left the office to bring them some food.
"She told me that he started by touching her all over her body, then kissed her. When she ran away to the kitchen, he followed her and revealed his privates and ordered her to touch him back. But then he received a call and left," the mother told prosecutors.
She took her daughter to Naif police station to report the incident.
"The mother was shaking and crying and so was the girl. We calmed them both down, then took the girl to a play room in the station," said an Emirati police officer, 32.
"After a while, when she was calm and started playing, we asked her about the incident. She pointed at every part the man touched and said that at the end he took pictures of her."
The officer said that the driver was arrested 45 minutes after the report was made.
"He admitted that he had made a mistake, then we found 13 pictures of the victim on his phone," the officer said.
Dubai Criminal Court convicted him of sexual assault and sentenced him to one year in prison to be followed by deportation.
