ABU DHABI // A driver convicted of illegally transporting passengers for a profit told the Appeals Court yesterday that he felt sorry for them as they were standing in the heat.
SI, from Pakistan, said he was passing by when a group of school students waved at him asking for a lift.
“It was very hot and I felt sorry for them so I took on them on board,” he explained.
A verdict will be announced later this week.
