A woman has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in which a German tourist was struck by a speeding 4x4.

DUBAI // A woman has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in which a German tourist was struck by a speeding 4x4. Police say witnesses saw a silver 4x4 speeding uncontrollably before it hit the 40-year-old tourist as he was crossing Tariq Bin Ziad Road near Al Maktoum Bridge at 1am on Nov 18. He died on the way to Rashid Hospital, "after nearly all the bones of his body were broken", a police spokesman said.
BA, 32, an Iranian, was arrested at her family home in Ajman. Police allege the driver fled the scene of the accident with two passengers, a man and woman identified as MH and MA, who were arrested on conspiracy charges. The accused confessed to the being involved in the incident after the car she was driving was discovered with a broken windscreen and damage to the front bumper. She has been charged with a hit-and-run causing death and failing to report the incident to police.
