An Emirati accused of beating his wife and family claimed yesterday that his spouse was the one beating him.
The man's mother and siblings, some of whom are juveniles, also insulted the woman, threatened and beat her, an Abu Dhabi court was told.
The defendants said the wife was psychologically disturbed and has a psychiatric file. They insisted that she hit herself and punched herself in the face before contacting police.
The woman's father said her in-laws have been abusing her. A verdict will be announced on October 16.
