Woman had claimed that the child was her son but tests showed otherwise.
DNA test shows woman was not boy's biological mother
DUBAI // DNA tests have proven that a three-year-old boy found with a Bangladeshi woman after her arrest in a bachelor's home in Muraqqabat was not her son, a senior prosecution official said yesterday.
The woman had claimed that the child was her son, but that the father had left the UAE, taking the child's passport with him. Tests carried out on the child and the woman proved that she was not the child's biological mother.
Despite the findings, the woman was refusing to tell investigators about the child's true identity.
Mohammad Hassan Abdul Raheem, the head of Muraqabbat prosecution, said that Immigration and Residency Department officers found the boy during an inspection operation on a bachelor's house last month.
"She insisted he was her son and we had another DNA test, but she was found lying, the findings were the same, she was not his biological mother," he said.
Dubai Public Prosecution decided to advertise the boy's picture in media hoping the public would help to identify him, or that the real mother would see his pictures and step forward.
