Thousands of counterfeit watches, mobile phones and accessories, valued at Dh33 million, have been seized in Dubai.
The fake products were confiscated during raids at a warehouse in Ras Al Khor, Dubai Police said.
Brig Salem Al Rumaithi, director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, said police were tipped off that fake watches were being stored at the warehouse.
Following an investigation, they raided the warehouse and confiscated 98,000 fake luxury watches worth Dh23 million.

“The owner of the fake items, an Asian, was arrested and referred to Dubai Public Prosecution," he said.
This year, police also raided a villa in Al Hamriya after finding out that fake mobile phones were being sold from there.
“Four people were arrested for combining different parts of mobile phones parts and selling them as genuine,’ said Col Omar bin Hammad, director of the anti-economic crimes department at Dubai Police.
“The confiscated fake items in the villa were worth Dh10 million.”
Col Bin Hammad said the anti-economic crimes department, in co-operation with the Department of Economic Development, frequently inspect shops to ensure authentic products are sold at all times.
