Dh30m worth of fake goods seized in Ajman

The confiscated items included fake Adidas, Nike, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Burberry, and Dior products

More than Dh30m worth of counterfeit goods were seized by Ajman Police across the emirate.

The confiscated items included fake Adidas, Nike, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Burberry, and Dior products.

Police began investigations after a Louis Vuitton agent found sellers had been storing the counterfeit products with plans to sell them in shops at China Mall.

“We started investigating and discovered that the goods were stored in a number of villas in Al Nuaimia area to be sold to shops in China Mall and in other emirates,” said Lt Col Gaith Al Kaabi, head of Al Nuaimia Police Station.

Police arrested seven men and four women, all Chinese, who were found to be storing the goods.

“We confiscated 85,413 counterfeit items including shoes, jewellery, and bags, which are all being stored with the prosecution until the completion of investigations,” said Lt Col Al Kaabi.

He urged the public to report any fake items to assist police in their crackdown on commercial fraud.
