Definitely Dubai: Tourism website now includes view to a room

The ‘Definitely Dubai’ feature will provide the latest available data on current and planned hotels in the emirate

DUBAI // Tourists will soon have access to information on hundreds of hotels, malls and souqs across the city at the click of a button.

The “Definitely Dubai” feature is expected to be added to the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) website by the end of the year.

A map will show the location of 600 hotels and hotel apartments, as well as key tourist attractions.

“Users can select the type of hotel they are looking for, whether that is a one star or five star,” said a spokeswoman at the DTCM stand at Gitex Technology Week.

“When they click the hotel it will come up with room rates and occupancy levels, helping people to make a more informed choice.”

The website will also provide more information on the city’s malls and souqs.

It uses the Dubai Hotels Supply Live Link system, which has been designed to give the latest available data on current and planned hotels in the emirate.

The information can also be used by decision-makers and planners within the Government and private sector.

“The Definitely Dubai app has been upgraded to include a new design and navigation, new links to related content such as information about the UAE’s bid for Expo 2020, and new sharing options for information about Dubai, enabling users to share insights about Dubai that will be useful to tourists and residents,” said Suhail Buhelaiba, director of information technology at DTCM.

“We have also integrated information from Dubai Calendar, so users have immediate access to news about events taking place.

“Other e-services we are exhibiting include definitelydubai.com, dubaicalendar.com, and services related to Dubai hotel classifications, e-booking and flight-booking.”
