A construction worker raped his drunk colleague after luring him into his room, Dubai Criminal Court was told.
Records show that around midnight on November 17, a 24-year-old Indian man was drunk when his countryman asked him to accompany him back to his residence at a Jebel Ali worker accommodation.
"I recall that he met me near a supermarket then asked me to walk him back to his accommodation room, which I did" the man told the court.
He said the defendant's roommate was home but left abruptly when they arrived after which the accused locked the door from inside.
When both were alone in the room, the Indian defendant, 29, allegedly raped his resisting colleague. Afterwards the man left and told the accommodation supervisor what happened who in turn called police.
"I remember telling him to let me go, but he attacked me and pulled down my trousers," the alleged victim.
A medical exam showed that the traces of DNA found on the man's body matched the defendant.

At Dubai Criminal Court on Wednesday, the construction worker was charged with rape while the second man was charged with consuming alcohol without a license.
The next hearing is scheduled for March 14.
