Woman sent WhatsApp death threats to husband, court hears
Defendant is accused of hurling abuse at man and his family
A woman sent death threats to her husband on WhatsApp, a court heard.
The 34-year-old, from the Philippines, is alleged to have hurled abuse at her partner and his family in a string of abusive messages.
She is also accused of setting up Facebook and Instagram accounts in his name without his knowledge.
Her 31-year-old husband, from Yemen, said the woman told him that she would "kill" him.
“Some of the messages had very inappropriate insults related to my mother and others were threats that she would kill me,” said the man.
He said the defendant had posted pictures of himself, his father and other members of his family on the online accounts.
It was not stated in court records what had led to the dispute between the couple, who live in Dubai.
The woman denied charges of issuing threats and insults and abusing a means of telecommunication when she appeared at Dubai Criminal Court.
A verdict is due to be delivered on February 26.
