Woman made ethnic insults over parking dispute, court rules
DUBAI // A woman was fined Dh2,000 for making ethnic insults to an Emirati man and a Saudi man, a court ruled this morning.
The 30-year-old housewife AK, Emirati, denied damaging a Nissan Altima's front window and insulting her neighbour AM as well as his Saudi friend NF, 37.
Records show that about 8.30pm on August 25, 2010, AK insulted the two men after she asked them to move their car, which was parked in front of AM's house.
"I was at my father's house and parked my car in front of the house when she claimed my car blocked her way," AM said in records.
He said she kept honking her horn until his wife went out to calm her down. At that point, she insulted them.
"She used inappropriate words to describe me and AM," NF said.
NF said he went outside and found AK had thrown a small rock through one of his car's windows.
"She said, 'you lousy Iranians, go to your home, and if we don't kick you out of this country, Obama will,'" NF said.
He noted that she also claimed she was connected with important people who would protect her from any legal action.
AM told prosecutors that AK often interfered in the neighbourhood's issues, and that all the neighbours have suffered because of her.
She denied the charges to police officers and did not appear in court to enter a plea or hear the verdict.
