Woman locked up for shouting at friend, Dubai court told
DUBAI // An American pilot locked a female friend in his apartment because she raised her voice at him, a court heard today.
Prosecutors told the Criminal Court that SA, 28, locked up his Bahrain friend HA, 23, on October 4 this year at his apartment in Mirdiff.
The woman said she visited the pilot to collect a receipt she needed to claim her passport from Al Rashidiya police station. The passport had been confiscated after a traffic accident.
"He let me in to look through the papers then I was surprised to see him locking the door after he took my car keys and mobile," said the woman.
The pilot told her he was locking her up because she had raised her voice at him.
She screamed at passersby and police rescued her. The pilot was arrested in Abu Dhabi driving the woman's car.
He did not appear in court to enter a plea. A verdict is expected on December 12.
