DUBAI // A woman who beat her husband over the head with her high heels has been fined Dh500.
Emirati TM, 44, lost her temper when she arrived home late one evening to find her Nepali housekeeper was still there.
She asked her husband, WR, 40, why the woman was at the house.
"I told her I wanted her to do some work in the home and that she had done nothing wrong, but she didn't like that and assaulted the maid," the husband told the Court of Misdemeanours.
"When I tried to stop her from doing so, she took off her shoes and hit me with them, and her daughter from a previous marriage joined in and assaulted me too."
The stepdaughter, FA, 17, denied this, saying when they arrived home he had locked the door and would not let them in.
She told prosecutors she was not involved in the fight. "I just stood between the two to break the fight," she said.The wife said that she hit her husband because he had tried to strangle her.
"He squeezed on my neck," she said.
During an earlier hearing, the husband was found guilty of assaulting and threatening his wife and fined Dh1,000.
On Thursday, the wife and her daughter were fined Dh500 for assaulting the husband and the housekeeper.
