DUBAI // A prostitute accused two men of rape after they stole from her, a court heard yesterday.

Emiratis WM and EM, both 31, went to her flat in the Marina area and paid for sex with her after a drinking session, prosecutors said.

The men then robbed her while she took a shower, so she called police claiming to have been raped. But the public prosecution did not believe her and did not pursue rape charges.

The men are on trial for theft and drinking alcohol. All three have been charged with having sex outside of marriage.

The woman, RK, from Morocco, called police on August 26 last year claiming to have been raped by two men posing as police officers.

She had let them into her flat and they started drinking from a bottle they brought with them.

"One of them showed me a piece of paper he said was a search warrant," the woman said. "He ordered me to go into my bedroom." She said they then took turns to rape her. After a shower, she found a laptop, mobile phones and Dh4,000 in cash were missing.

The men said they paid the woman Dh3,000 for sex and denied robbery. A security guard at her building testified that many men regularly visited her flat.

Neither man appeared in court. One of them is detained in Sharjah, and faces a separate accusation of rape. The next hearing was scheduled for August 18.
