Three charged with trafficking, prostitution

They lured females from overseas, including a 15-year-old girl, and forced them into having sex for money.

DUBAI // Three suspects today denied charges of locking up four women and forcing them to work as prostitutes after promising legitimate jobs.

The suspects KK, 32, and LN, 27, both from India and unemployed, were charged with luring three victims, ages 27, 35, and 38, from India and Bangladesh after assuring them work in Dubai.
However, prosecutors said, they locked the victims in an apartment in Naif area and forced them to have sex with men for money.
The third suspect MA, 33, from Bangladesh, is accused of raping a fourth victim, age 15, records show.
The victims told investigators they had been approached in their home countries by people from their neighbourhoods and were offered maid jobs in Dubai.
After they arrived at Dubai International Airport between August and November 2010, the women were taken to an old house in Naif, where they met several others locked up there, records said. According to records, the women were informed by the other victims that they would be forced into prostitution.
One of the victims told prosecutors that when she refused to give in to the suspects' orders, she was beaten and kicked repeatedly.
Police raided the apartment in November, after being tipped off, records said.
The next hearing was scheduled for February 23.
