DUBAI // A man was sentenced to six months in prison today on charges he broke into a trading company, attacked an accountant and stole Dh1 million.
The Criminal Court of First Instance handed down the verdict for SK, Indian, separately because he was still at large. Fourt other men have already been convicted of the robbery of Al Ras Trading Company.
JA, 24, Pakistani, was last month sentenced to three years in prison on charges of assault and forced robbery, while MA, 33, Indian, was sentenced to one year. AS, 27, a salesman, and ZA, 28, a sales manager, both Indian, were sentenced to six months each for plotting with JA and MA.
According to records, JA and MA forced open the door of the accountant SS's apartment in Naif area on December 2, 2010.
SS testified that JA presented a police ID slapped his face, then ordered him to open a safe which contained Dh1m. They also stole four labour cards, prosecutors said.
Naif Police station arrested the mens five days after the theft. Records did not show whether the stolen money was recovered.
They will all be deported after serving their prison terms.
