DUBAI // A man who raped a drunk female guest at his house party has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
The Indian sales agent AS, 47, invited the unemployed Filipina JM, 30, to his apartment in Jumeirah 1 on February 3 this year. She arrived with another Filipina, SD, at about 9pm.
The guest had too much to drink and passed out on a sofa. When she awoke she was on a bed next to the sales agent.
He started molesting the guest and trying to take off her clothes and when she resisted he beat her, strangled her, ripped off her clothes and raped her as she cried.
He then left the room and locked the door behind him. She fell asleep and was woken at 4pm by her friend who helped her get dressed and took her home.
"I found my [JM] unconscious on the bed and bleeding," said the friend, who noticed bruising covering the guest's body.
"She was scared and started crying when I woke her up.
"The next morning the guest visited a hospital then reported the rape to Bur Dubai Police Station.
The man was then arrested in an apartment in Al Safia. He told police that he was paying the woman for the sex, but that they had a fight before intercourse occured.
He did not enter a plea when he appeared at the Criminal Court in May. He will be deported after completing his prison term.
