Two RTA employees are accused of abusing their powers to harass a 36-year-old woman by posting some of her personal information on Facebook.

The woman, SA, an Egyptian, said she met the suspects in August while repairing her vehicle's tyres, according to records. She told prosecutors in the Dubai Court of Misdemeanors she later was contacted on BlackBerry Messenger by one of the suspects. She said she ignored him.

Both suspects BA, Lebanese, 22, and JA, Australian, 21, confessed to logging into the woman's Salik account and taking down details.

JA is also accused of taking her personal e-mail address and using it to send her several messages.

SA informed her husband, who told her to save all the suspects' messages and e-mails. The couple then lodged a complaint against them. Copies of their messages to SA were attached to the court case file.

A verdict is expected on February 2.
