A gang of five men accused of killing a restaurant worker after he saw them robbing a store in Dubai has been arrested.
A Dubai Police official said the arrests took place in Sharjah in cooperation with officers from the emirate. The gang, which consisted of four Russian nationals and a Chinese man, are alleged to have stolen a safe from the store containing Dh60,000, 70 passports and a number of driving licences after visiting the premises earlier that day posing as customers.
A police official said the man who was killed, Indian HK, 32, may have spotted the gang during the raid while he was cleaning a restaurant adjacent to the store.
Investigations suggested HK was taken to a nearby parking lot by the gang before he was killed.
Dubai police are continuing to investigate the case.
