One man was killed in a five-vehicle accident in Dubai on Tuesday.

The pile-up happened at about 9pm on Rabat Street close to Nad Al Hamar Road.

It is believed the driver of a Dodge vehicle was rear-ended and crashed into a car in front, causing damage to two other cars and a motorcycle.

An Asian man died in the incident but police did not disclose any further details about him.

The accident caused major tailbacks in the area.

It follows separate reports that two people died and a third was seriously injured in three different accidents on Dubai's roads over the past few days.

Police urged motorists to stop speeding and maintain a safe distance between vehicles when driving.
