DUBAI // Two senior officials pocketed more than Dh46 million by selling three land plots owned by the Dubai Government, a court heard today.

Prosecutors told the Criminal Court that AA, 38, then the executive director at Tamweel, and AN, 44, the commercial director, sold two land plots at Jumeirah Lakes Towers in 2008, making more than Dh28m in illegal profits. They were also accused of making a further Dh18m in illegal profits by selling a plot at Dubai Marina.

RR, 54, a Ukrainian properties agent; WG, 57, a broker, and MY, 40, a merchant, both from Pakistan; AM, 47, an Emirati businessman; and NM, Indian, were all charged with aiding and abetting the two men.

All defendants denied the charges and the case was adjourned to July 14.
