DUBAI // Two Emiratis were sentenced to five years in prison this morning for abusing a young girl and forcing her to have sex with both of them after she fled her parents' house.

KM, 20, a student told the court he did not have sex with the girl, but flirted and spent "intimate time" with her. SM, 23, denied the charges and said he did not have any kind of relationship with the girl, who was 13.

Both were convicted of having forceful sex with a minor.

The girl testified that after she ran away from home, SM contacted her and she and met him in Jumierah. She said he abused her in his car, and she couldn't resist him because she was frightened.

The victim said that SM gave her to his friend KM, who took her to his house, where he abused her, then took her to a hotel where both men abused her again.

A Dubai police forensics report showed that DNA traces found on the girl belonged to the two men.
