ABU DHABI // Five men kidnapped two women before throwing one out of their car on a motorway and forcing the other into prostitution, the Criminal Court heard yesterday.

Prosecutors said the two Indonesian women had been living together in Abu Dhabi after one of them fled her sponsor.

One was leaving her job for the day when the five man kidnapped her and told her to take them to her home, the court was told.

When they arrived they entered the home and told her friend they were CID agents and were arresting her for stealing, prosecutors claim.

They dragged her by her hair to their car and drove to Dubai.

The men sold one of the women to a man for Dh2,500, but threw the other out of their car when they could not sell her.

The brother of one of the women notified police that she was missing. They found her in a brothel with 23 other men and women.

Five men, all from Bangladesh, denied charges of kidnapping and selling a woman into prostitution.

One of the two women denied working as a prostitute, saying she refused to interact with any of the clients at the brothel where she was held.

Both women are being charged with immigration offences. The case was adjourned to October 17.
