DUBAI // A financial manager inappropriately touched a female employee while delivering financial aid to her, a court heard this morning.

The 33-year-old LP, from India, denied the charge at the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance this morning.

Prosecutors said that on the morning of May 21, LP rang the victim's doorbell. When she answered, accompanied by her two-year-old son, he grabbed her and touched her breasts.

Before the Filipina woman, 35, who lives with her husband, could even scream, LP had run away into the lift.

The woman's husband chased LP down the stairs from the eighth floor and caught him getting into his car, records show. The husband, RP, testified that LP was scared and apologized several times when he was confronted.

The woman told prosecutors LP had sexually harassed her before.

"I told my boss that he touched my thighs before, but when he spoke to him, he denied it," she said.

LP's boss called after hearing from the woman's husband, but LP told him he had gone to her house to give her Dh5,000 in aid she had requested.

The next hearing will be on July 27.
