DUBAI // A manager at a five-star hotel yesterday denied pulling the bra strap of one of his employees and trying to molest her.
Prosecutors told a court the Egyptian manager ST, 40, approached ZS, a 28-year-old Emirati, on April 23 before talking to her about the type of bra she was wearing.
The shocked woman said she screamed: "Oh my God, this is too much," before pushing him away and walking out.
She told prosecutors the incident happened at the locker room where customers kept their valuables.
"He held me with his left arm behind my back and with his right hand on my shoulder. He tried to pull me towards his chest further," she said.
The employee said she nearly lost her balance and fell to the ground but managed to push him away and began to walk off.
He then pulled the strap of her bra and asked her about the type of underwear she wore, but she walked on and returned to her office.
When the manager saw how upset she was, he started to apologise.
Prosecutors showed the court footage from a security camera.
The manager's lawyer said the camera footage was misleading. He said prosecutors claimed the incident happened over four seconds, but they showed a recording of only three seconds.
"The fourth second will make things clearer because the pictures of the other three seconds do not show any molestation and do not prove anything," said the lawyer.
The next hearing was scheduled for September 20 in Dubai Criminal Court.
