DUBAI // A man who grabbed the buttocks of a flight attendant as she danced at a Bur Dubai nightclub had his jail term reduced from six months to three by the Appeals Court today.
AA, 26, from Tunisia, sidled up to the flight attendant and her friend at the Amika Dubai at the H Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road on October 26, 2011, and began trying to dance with them. "We tried to avoid him but in vain so we asked him more than one time to stay away from us," said the flight attendant.
Ten minutes later, she felt him groping her buttocks and pushed him away. He responded by punching her in the face.
Security guards then intervened and called police.
The Criminal Court found him guilty of sexual assault and sentenced him to six months to be followed by deportation. The Appeals Court reduced the jail term, but upheld the deportation order.
