Man who gave address of victim to hired killers has jail term increased
The Pakistani man, 35, was convicted of aiding and abetting a murder
A man who helped a pair of hired killers track down their victim has had his jail sentence increased by a Dubai court.
The 35-year-old, from Pakistan, was handed a ten-year prison sentence in May for aiding and abetting a murder after providing the hitmen with the address of his compatriot, whose age was not disclosed in court records.
The sentence was increased to 15 years behind bars after a failed challenge against the verdict was lodged at Dubai Court of Appeal.
The man's body was found dumped in a car park in Dubai after a savage attack in which he was stabbed and struck with a hammer in December, 2017.
Police arrested two Pakistani men at Dubai International Airport in connection with the murder as they attempted to flee the country.
The two men, aged 31 and 47, said during police questioning that a compatriot, 33, offered them Dh15,000 each to kill the victim, who he claimed had murdered his brother in their native Pakistan in 2005.
All three men were handed life sentences for their respective roles in the murder.
