A man lured an unwitting interviewee to his home by posting a fake online job advert before attempting to rape her, a court heard.

The Pakistani accused, 34, launched a vicious attack on the woman after she grew suspicious of his intentions when he started drinking alcohol during the supposed interview.

The Filipino woman, 36, had arrived at the man's apartment in Jumeirah Village Circle on June 9 in the hope of finding work after answering the vacancy for a real estate agent position.

“It scared me that he was drinking so I got up and wanted to leave but he attacked me,” she said.

The accused allegedly bit the woman's shoulder and hurled her to the ground and tried to sexually assault her.

The woman managed to resist his advances and ran out of the apartment.

She alerted a building security guard, who called police.

“When we arrived we noticed she was injured,” said a police officer.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment for multiple bruises and a bite to the shoulder.

The man was arrested and denied a sexual assault charge during police questioning.

He appeared in court during a closed session on Sunday.

The case was adjourned until October 1.
