Man threatened to cut off woman’s head and fingers, Dubai court hears

A man who threatened a woman by saying he would chop off her daughter’s head and fingers was not present at the Dubai Criminal Court on Tuesday morning to enter a plea.

DUBAI // A unemployed man threatened a mother that he would chop off her daughter’s head and fingers because she had lodged a complaint against him, the Dubai Criminal Court yesterday.

AB, 21, from the Comoros Islands, who was not in court to hear a charge of issuing threats to kill, went to the Emirati housewife’s home on April 30.

F K, 48, said that the defendant often came to her house and, on the day of the incident, he arrived at about 3am and started knocking.

He rang and screamed at F K and her 21-year-old daughter to open up but they refused.

The mother said in police records that he started asking her why she had lodged a complaint against him with police.

“He then told me that because I lodged a complaint against him, he will cut my daughter’s head and fingers,” said F K.

Records did not elaborate on the reasons of the complaint nor did they explain the nature of the relationship between the defendant and the mother.

The next hearing will be on October 22.
