DUBAI // Two men stabbed another to death in a drunken brawl at a labour camp, a court heard today.

Prosecutors told the Criminal Court that JA, 24 and SR, 37, from India, murdered their countryman RR on June 1 at the camp in Sonapur, Al Muhaisnah, following a fight over money earlier that day.

The dead man attacked one of the men during the earlier fight, so the pair came back a few hours later, at about 11.45pm, and stabbed him in the back and left thigh with a knife. They were drunk at the time and fled the scene, but were arrested the next day.

Both were charged with premeditated murder and consuming alcohol.

The case was adjourned to December 5 as the men speak only Tamil and no translator was available.
