Dubai police arrested a man on Thursday over his involvement in 45 fraud cases valued at Dh18 million.

According to the Arabic press, Brig Ahmed bin Gulaitha, director of Al Rafa police station said that the Asian was reported by several banks and investors.

He said that the man had taken a Dh6m personal loan which he didn't repay while the rest of the amount resulted from other business deals he struck with investors in the country. 
"When we investigated his history, we found that numerous reports have been filed against him since 2014," said Brig Gulaitha. 
Investigators found the man had been living in the country illegally and arrested him at a metro station . 
Brig Gulaitha said the man admitted to all his wrongdoings during police investigations and was referred to the public prosecution for further legal action.
