DUBAI // A man's intestines fell out when his flatmate stabbed him during a drunken row over a debt of Dh10,000, the Criminal Court heard yesterday.

SP, 24, stabbed HN, 31, in their Al Rashidiya apartment on September 15 last year when the elder flatmate asked him to return a loan. The attack caused the elder man's intestines to fall out, said prosecutors.

He was rushed to hospital and underwent a number of operations, but surgeons could not fully repair his intestines and had to permanently remove a part of them.

Prosecutors charged SP with attempted murder and charged both men with consuming alcohol. Both men denied all charges.

The case was adjourned to April 14.
