A housemaid who sexually assaulted her employer's young daughter has been sentenced to a year in prison.
The crime came to light last February after the girl, 5, admitted to her mother that she had touched inappropriately by the Filipino domestic helper, 27.
The victim's mother, 26, confronted the maid who admitted carrying out two sexual assaults at the family home in Al Muraqqabat, Dubai.
“She worked for us for nearly 18 months and took care of my two kids while I was away studying medicine,” said the mother, who reported the incident to police.
The maid was convicted of sexual assault at Dubai Criminal Court.
She will be deported after serving her jail term.
