Kidnappers of Dubai labourer jailed
DUBAI // A supervisor and a salesman have been sentenced by Dubai Criminal Court to six months in prison for kidnapping a labourer and demanding a Dh4,500 ransom from his family and friends.
Bangladeshis AH, 26, and MR, 35, kidnapped their victim MJ, in July last year and phoned his friend to say they had locked MJ on a roof in Dubai's Al Naif area and would continue to beat him if the friend didn't bring the ransom.
The friend called Dubai Police who accompanied him to the ransom drop-off and arrested AH who then led them to where MR was holding MJ hostage.
