DUBAI // An airline pilot who molested a schoolgirl on the way to her Arabic lesson was jailed for three months at Dubai Criminal Court yesterday.
JL, 29, from the Seychelles, touched the girl's face and tried to kiss her in the lift of an apartment block.
The girl, 14, had been on her way to her Arabic tutor's apartment in Al Jawhara building, Knowledge Village, at about 11am on March 17, an earlier hearing was told.
"I pressed floor 31 and he pressed 21," she said. The man did not get out when they reached the 21st floor.
"As the lift's door closed again on the 21st floor, he approached me and tried to touch my face," she said.
She tried to push him away but he kept trying to touch her. The girl rushed out of the lift when it reached floor 31 and reported the attack to her tutor.
The building's security guard told police he saw the man getting into the lift with the girl.
Surveillance cameras showed he had pressed the button for the 21st floor but did not get out of the lift there.
The pilot, who works "for a reputable airline in the UAE", had denied the charges.
