DUBAI // A labourer who drunkenly stabbed his roommate causing him to lose his spleen was today sentenced to six months in prison.

TL, a 40-year-old Indian, stabbed his compatriot PR in the abdomen following an argument at their Muhaisnah 2 labour camp on September 22, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The roommate, who bled severely, was rushed to hospital but lost his spleen as a result of the stabbing. Prosecutors described the injury as a permanent 20 per cent disability.
