DUBAI // An investor sent threatening e-mails to a former business partner, telling the man he would kill him and take his money, a court heard this morning.

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance was told that the 55-year-old Azerbaijani FA sent threatening and insulting e-mails to OM during December 14-16, 2009. FA denied the charges and asked to hear witness testimony.

Prosecutors accused him of threatening to commit murder. According to OM's testimony, there was a court dispute between the two after a failed business venture, and OM won the case in 2008.

He said that after the case was finished, FA started sending him e-mails to his private account threatening to harm him.

“I will hurt you when no one is around to help,” one of the e-mails said, according to OM.

He testified that FA also wrote him that OM would be swimming in a pool of his own blood while FA took all his money.

OM testified that FA accused him of defrauding people and stealing their money.

KM, a witness, told prosecutors he read one of three e-mails sent by FA that said, “I will get you when you least expect it.”

The next hearing date has not yet been determined.
