A farmer is accused of raping his friend while visiting him at his residence in Dubai.
Farmer raped another man, court hears
DUBAI // A 22-year-old farmer stood trial this morning on charges of raping another man, the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance heard.
"I didn't do it," AD from Pakistan told presiding Judge Hamad Abdul Latif.
Prosecutors said that on November 17 last year the victim AA, 20, also from Pakistan, received a phone call from the defendant, who was his friend, to arrange a visit to his room at his work place in a farm in Al Khawaneej.
"He came around 8pm," the victim said in court records. "We sat a while, then I prepared dinner for us before we played a game for about an hour."
The victim said that when he made a place for the defendant to sleep, AD asked him to sleep closer to him.
"'Am I your wife to sleep next to you?,' I told him," AA said in his testimony.
Records stated that AD then got up to restrain his friend, but AA ran outside the room into the farm. AD allegedly apologised to him. When they returned to the room, however, AA said in court records, his friend locked the door and hid the key.
"He dragged me towards him and during my resistance he bit me on my shoulder and arm," AA said.
AD allegedly raped him twice in the same day, then got up in the morning and left the room without talking to the victim.
AA called his brother and informed him of the incident, then showed him the bites. They both went to the Rashidiya police station and reported the crime.
Police investigations proved that DNA traces belonging to the defendant were found on the victim.
A medical report also proved the victim was bitten at a time and date consistent with the crime.
"I had lent the victim Dh800, and I asked him for the money, that's why he said I raped him," AD told the court.
The next hearing will be on April 12 to appoint a lawyer for the defendant.
