DUBAI // A man dismissed from a real estate investment company was accused this morning of selling the company's car, stealing a laptop and a BlackBerry and fleeing the country.

The Tunisian NB is also accused of forging several unofficial documents and invoices and presenting them to his employer for payment, records show.

The incident happened in November, when NB took Dh60,000 from the company, a 2006-model Toyota Camry, the mobile, worth Dh1,000, and a Dh2,000 worth HP laptop.

Prosecutors said he sold the car to an Indian man, MQ, for Dh35,000.

MQ is charged with possessing a stolen vehicle and selling it to the third defendant, MK, 34, Bangladeshi, who sold it to a Saudi man who took it to Saudi Arabia.

Both men appeared before the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance this morning and denied the charges.

The next hearing will be on May 29.
