Dubai woman caught husband hiding lover on balcony, court hears

Husband, KR, 38, pleads guilty to having consensual sex out of wedlock at the Court of Misdemeanours.

DUBAI // A pregnant woman separated from her husband returned to their apartment to find him hiding a near-naked woman on the balcony, a court was told yesterday.

Pakistani SB, 26, was initially refused entry to the Al Warqa flat by her husband, KR, 38, but on entering found an Indonesian woman on the balcony with only a small towel covering her lower half.

The husband and his 27-year-old lover, NB, were charged with having consensual sex out of wedlock. NB, a maid, was also charged with absconding from her sponsor.

The pregnant woman, who also has a seven-month-old baby to KR, told prosecutors she left her husband as he had quit his job and he was constantly asking her for money.

She had sent her brother to the flat to obtain documents on September 14 but when her husband refused him entry, she grew suspicious and went over herself.

SB said the maid asked her about her identity and when she said she was KR's wife, the maid was stunned because he had claimed to her that he was not married.

The husband and the maid confessed they had met two days before the incident. NB said she had absconded from her sponsor about three months before and KR promised her a job with a good salary.

At the Court of Misdemeanours yesterday KR pleaded guilty but NB was not present.

The next hearing will be on November 5 to summon NB.
