Dubai man who exploited vulnerable women jailed for 15 years

A man would lure vulnerable women to his brothel with promises of better-paid jobs before beating them, raping them and taking pictures of them naked.

DUBAI // A man who lured vulnerable women to his brothel with promises of better-paid jobs before beating them, raping them and taking pictures of them naked, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

DH, 28, from Bangladesh, was sentenced on charges of human trafficking, running a brothel and rape, while three others were sentenced to three years in prison each. FA, 38, from Bangladesh and the Indonesian madam, MB, 23, were also found guilty of running a brothel and human trafficking while JH, 40, from Bangladesh, was found guilty of human trafficking. All will be deported after completing their prison terms.

Police raided the brothel in Hamdan after one of the women forced to work there managed to steal a mobile phone and call her former sponsor's wife. Another woman, who was imprisoned at the brothel after running away from her sponsor's physically abusive wife, told the Criminal Court she had been beaten for three days and raped.

Police officers found photographs and recordings of the injured woman on the mobile phone of one of the pimps.
