Dubai Courts seek public help to design app

The initiative is part of a government-wide transition from e-government to a smartphone platform.

DUBAI // Dubai Courts has launched a competition asking the public to design creative smartphone apps for their services.

The initiative is part of a government-wide transition from e-government to a smartphone platform, led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, vice president of the UAE and ruler of Dubai.

Applications should be made through the Dubai Courts' 'Nebras' mobile app, and the deadline for submissions is August 20.

"Suggestions submitted must be entirely new, having never previously been submitted to any other party," said a statement from Dubai Courts.

The statement did not mention a reward for winning suggestions.
