DUBAI // A cook sentenced to three months in jail for sexually pestering his restaurant's receptionist has been acquitted by the Appeals Court.
LK, 33, from Nepal, was accused of repeatedly grabbing the buttocks of the receptionist at the Pentoya Restaurant on Sheikh Zayed Road, despite her demands that he leave her alone.
The receptionist said she lost patience on November 13 last year when he put a piece of paper in her back pocket and fondled her.
He was convicted by the Criminal Court on a charge of sexual assault and sentenced to three months in jail and deportation, but the Appeals Court cleared him of the charge.
