DUBAI // A drunk man stabbed his room-mate causing him to lose his spleen, a court heard today.

The Dubai Court of First Instance was told that TL, a 40-year-old Indian construction worker stabbed his compatriot PR, whose age was not given, in the abdomen at their Muhaisnah 2 residence on September 22 last year.

Prosecutors said the stabbed man was rushed to hospital but medics could not mend the damage to his spleen. They described his injuries as constituting a permanent "20 per cent" disability.
