Death sentence upheld for maid and boyfriend who killed elderly UAE employer
ABU DHABI // A maid who murdered her elderly employer had her death sentence upheld by the Federal Supreme Court today.
The court also upheld the death sentence for the maid's boyfriend, who planned and helped carry out the killing.
The pair killed the woman at her house in Khor Fakkan on February 4 last year, shortly after meeting up for sex.
The maid dragged her sponsor out of bed to her room, where her boyfriend tied the woman up with a blanket.
When the woman lost consciousness the pair went to her bedroom and rifled through her belongings, stealing a number of items.
They then carried the woman back to her bed where the boyfriend choked her to death.
Both confessed to planning and carrying out the killing and were convicted of premeditated murder.
The family of the dead woman asked for the death sentence.
