DUBAI // Two Afghani men were sentenced to death this morning for killing an Uzbek prostitute last year.
The victim's 42-year-old flatmate, NA, was separately convicted of prostitution at the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance and sentenced to six months in prison followed by deportation.
AA, 40, was romantically involved with the victim, MH, according to records, while IH, 30, met her for the first time on the eve of her murder.
NA told prosecutors the men came to their apartment in February and had sex with her and the victim. She said AA was upset because MH engaged in many relationships with Afghani men.
She said she heard MH screaming as AA killed her. IH punched NA repeatedly and locked her in a bathroom, she said.
DNA evidence found at the scene matched that of AA and IH, and two knives used in the murder were confiscated.
