DUBAI // A businessman who threatened to kill a man who complained about him to Sharjah police was yesterday sentenced to a suspended six-month jail term by the Criminal Court.
AM, a 34-year-old Iranian, was charged with calling his compatriot MW, 34, on several occasions and threatening to send people who would ruin his life and kill him if he did not drop the complaint.
"We had financial problems and I accused him of fraud then he tried to solve the matter with me before he started threatening me over the phone," said the man's compatriot.
The Iranian also visited his compatriot's home in October 2011 to threaten him.
